Real Housewives of Atlanta Reunion…Oh The Drama!

November 26, 2008 · 10 Comments

I had the pleasure of watching the ladies of the cast of the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunite in a final showdown this evening on Bravo. I have to say, they kept it very interesting.

I probably have seen about 85% of the episodes, more than enough to get a feel of the women, their personalities and who liked who and who was hating on who.

Can I just say, Kim is a HOT Mess! Now, I don’t have anything against Kim. I mean she is shady, but so are some of the others. But the woman said on TV and lied by first nodding her head in agreement when the host asked if she had cancer. The question was about her wig…and she starts breaking down about a scare she had 3 years ago. She lead everyone to believe that she had cancer, and then said, no they found out it wasn’t cancer. She lied in order to invoke sympathy for herself, she’s a head case.

I thought that Nene was going to knock Kim’s wig off at one point, Lisa had to hold her back from doing really getting in Kim’s face. Lisa’s peacemaker role was short lived as she was soon threatening to knock Kim over the couch! Seems like there is a lot going on between those three than what we saw on the show.

I say live and let live. One thing that irks me is that people think that just because they are black women they represent all black women. When are we going to get over this. Why does one black person need to carry the mantle for all of us. Black people are people and just like people…everyone is different. One thing that irked me is that they talk about class and being classy. People who are classy don’t talk about being classy, they just are.

Oh yeah, one word for Sheree…extra. She loves herself, and that’s very apparent.

I must say I have a soft spot for Nene, because like me…she’s from Queens, NY. So go Nene!!

I wonder what these ladies have in store for next year.

I don’t think Kim is very bright, but I do think she was scapegoated by all of the women. I think the real stone-thrower is Sheree and she threw Kim under the bus. Unfortunately Kim wasn’t bright enough to see that Sheree was totally using her to get to NeNe.
I also think the race card was played (shocker) to discredit Kim. I think all of those women are racist and had no problem beating up on Kim….and Sheree just sat back and smiled! Sheree is not a good person.
Does Kim have issues? Absolutely! However, the rest of them are just TRASH. The only one that had any class was DeShawn. And if her back was up against the wall, she would fall on the side of what’s black, and not what’s right.
I have always been told that blacks were horribly racist, and I didn’t believe it until tonight.
Get some class, Atlanta! The rest of the country is laughing at you!

I love NeNe too. I didn’t like her in the beginning though. I soon realized that she was the realest out of all of them.

Damn I love this show! I watched the show too, and it was crazy when Kim did that fake choke up about having cancer! The guy was like “So you don’t have cancer?” lol he was so damned confused. I like that NeNe and Lisa played no games. Kim is a mess

As far as Sheree, she’s fly, but some one has built her heard up too high.

Deshawn barely had anything to say, though she kept that smile that always makes my jaws hurt on.

@ Monie…I agree with you! I don’t think Kim’s comment was meant to be racist at all. She may be many things but I don’t get from her that she is racist. They probably did use her, but she’s a tool, so that’s what happens.

Isn’t kind of racist to make a blanket statement like “all Blacks are racist”?

I really don’t think these women carry the mantle for anyone – it was just entertainment. Pure and Simple. I think there are loads of upright and outstanding citizens in Atlanta – they chose not to be on the show (and for good reason). Atlanta is the mix of the old money, the new money, and the durrty south so if you not used to or acclimated with our culture – chill and don’t watch (and for the record you saw new money and durty southern drawing/hair salon politics going down).

I love NeNe and DeShawn – I don’t know why maybe cause they really don’t seem fake and I do agree Sheree completely dropped the friendship ball on Kim last night by not standing up to Lisa or NeNe when both women were confronting Kim. It just goes to show, Sheree will do what it takes to survive. Plus, I found it Hilarious that she can no longer brag about her divorce settlement.

    Oh well. Next season awaits.

@skywalker…hey and thanks for stopping by!

i know nothing about ATL except that there has been a mass exodus of people moving there over the recent years. I am a NYC girl!

all these women are entrepreneurial and each one used the show as the platform to take their ventures to the next level. Kim with her singing, Sheree with her clothing line, Lisa with her businesses and Deshawn and Nene with their foundations. Sheree did mention her line would be out Fall 09, and I haven’t seen it, so I will be waiting to see her designes.

One thing I didn’t mention was Nene’s claim that Kim is sleeping with a married man. I ain’t gonna throw no stones at Kim for anything but I hope she knows her self worth and doesn’t settle for being an option.

Whoa Morgan, all Blacks are racist….thats a racist attitude as well, as a bi-racial person I’m offended. The fact that you look at a cat fight between four women and blame it on the fact that three of the four are Black says a lot about you and your racist attitude towards Black people, but thats already been established.
I’ve watched some episodes of the other shows and those women are just as catty and ridiculous and it had nothing to do with their race or ethnicity and everything to do with their superficial, materialistic, self absorbed, narcissistic personalities. Money does not give you class and that opinion has been proven as fact on the California, New York and Atlanta shows. Making it a racial thing is totally out of line, its 2008, we’re trying to rise above the ignorance…try to catch up!

i must say i love the show because its drama that i don’t play in.

i also didn’t like nene in the start of the show but later realize she is one that is more outspoken and true to herself.

i like Lisa because shes outgoing if anyone should be the one with the stick up her ass it should be lisa and not shree…

shree is way to cocky and feels that “people are intimidated by her success” is artificial because she can thank the success to her ex husband bob… and her success being a “fashions show with no fashions” ??

i really don’t have much 2 say about Kim besides the obvious fact that she is trying a little too hard 2 fit in with the crowd…

i as a bi-racial person can not see any feud in this television show because of race clearly because ne ne not only has a problem with Kim but also shree who is an African-American woman.
